Oh well, I didn't sit down to write this entry for a simple rant. I sat down because I had a few things to say. So here we go!
My first book deal is finalized! I am currently in the contract phase now, which means my first ever pay day and book release is like 2 or 3 months away! This is pretty exciting for me, since I have been writing stories since I was like 10. That's 18 years of writing, reading, and studying. So to all those writers out there feeling the sting of rejection or the numbing sensation of writers block or what have you...hang in there! It takes time to get published.
I waited three months to hear from the company I am currently working with. After that, nearly every email I sent, took 1 month or longer to get a response too. But it's all good! For this deal I would wait longer if I had too.
The first book is called: "A Night in Liston's Manor," and is a ghost story. Horror.
Second book: "Earthbound: Adventures of Zorg and Zan," and is a sci-fi book. Comedy.
Third Book: (Not finished yet) "After School Rumble," a story about a fight after school. Comedy.
My big novel, the one I've been on for the last two years almost, is nearly done! I'm pretty excited about that too. The novel, "Holy Crap and the Judgment Day Blues," has been a struggle. Missing sections (I've lost the ending and the middle at one point, like some 80 pages of the novel, which I had to rewrite). But the finale draft is stronger and shaping to be a nice sized novel. Right now, with the few scenes missing, it is almost 350 pages long. My goal now is to make it around 400 pages. I have started to contact American agents and will keep the deviants and cheese heads up to date on it's progress!
That's it for now.

welcome to dA.
you'll probably notice eventually that many of the people really into lit here are into poetry - prose is not so popular simply because it's longer and people have a short attention span...
Still - have a look at my page, see what stuff I've put up, put up some excerpts/chapters of your own, and maybe a journal entry - and let me know if you want more info about how the place works (it's dauntingly big).
Once you've got something up, I'll pass on the names of some of the prose writers here - see what you think
